TT was heading to Hoxton Overground and was feeling a tad peckish...
Nestled in the large vaulted area below an arch of the Hoxton overground, Fabrique brings its earthy Swedish charm to Shoreditch.
It might be easy to miss as it is located away from the main road but keep walking up from Beagle and you would see its bold red doors. Its huge work area with its stone oven that shows that it clearly meant business. All its offerings are made on the premises. Being a Swedish bakery the product that they are probably best known for is the cinnamon bun and rightly so. When it is just out of the oven it is simply divine. My personal favourite is the cardamom bun. I love the slightly unusual marriage of sugar and spice.
Their website describes their traditional baking techniques and how they make bread taste better. I had their lunch sandwich once and it is indeed delicious. The bread really makes all the difference. Service is very warm here. If they have fresh buns out of the oven they will offer you those instead of those already on display.
Perhaps the only down side is the pricing a bun costs £2.50 a sandwich costs £6.00 while a tea would cost £2.50. The pricing has not put people off though. There is always a steady stream of people whenever I am there so that speaks for the quality of the products and the service. Do give it a try the next time you are in this part of town - it really is a little gem.

Fabrique Bakery - Swedish bakery hits Shoreditch
